Hi. My name is Rickymouse. I am a Yooper, to know what that is I am going to make you look it up. It is more than a place, it is a culture. A way of life. And of course, a Yooper accent and different way of looking at the world.
I figured I should probably introduce myself for those who have not known who I am from other sites. I am sixty years old and have learned many professions in my life, getting bored after I learned things well. This has given me the ability to learn how many types of people think, which is very beneficial. I was supposed to be a doctor but did not like what I was seeing in my first medical class on the economics of being a doctor. That was forty years ago and they still push the same crap today in the class. I wanted to learn medicine to help people, not to get rich and prestigious.
I am addicted to learning and for the last seven or eight years I have again become obsessed with trying to learn the truth about healthcare and nutrition. I study the properties of foods and medicines and also most diseases. I am trying to figure out how to keep from having genetic diseases be a problem. I also studied ancient civilizations and belong to an organization that is into diffusionism which is about combining ancient myths and records and evidence they uncover of ancient cultures. I started this when I started digging and found artifacts on my property, so I joined the Ancient Artifact Preservation Society which meets once a year for a conferance. They have some good speakers, including experts on some controversial subjects. The wife and I actually know some people who have made TV shows on this stuff.
I also study how foods effect our consciousness and why food additives and food chemistry itself can effect society. I see that there is overmedication going on for some and others will avoid the calming chemistry because they want to have energy. This is done without our direct knowledge.
I know that we need to be social and we must eat some of this chemistry, but too much can effect our health and actually make us have problems with thinking over the long term.
I do not think most doctors are aware of what is going on, neither do the people who parrot what they are told about nutrition. Only certain people know of these properties and finding how they work is time intensive, looking for real scientific evidence is frustrating. Most of what we are led to believe is not the whole truth.
Ok, those are my crudentials Nothing that would impress anyone, but I don't want to impress anyone. I can say that my homemade bread and soups and Pasties impress many people. Studying food science includes creating recipes that taste good and are nutritious.
