Fifteen days from today is Armageddon. That is the day before the granddaughters wedding, they are going to have the rehearsal in the back yard. So I have to start setting up tables and chairs and getting everything ready for the wedding and reception at our house. It isn't going to cost that much, the whole reception food should cost about three hundred bucks. Plus the pot luck dishes people are bringing. We will be having three grills going with Volwerths natural casing hotdogs, johnsonville brats, grass fed organic hamburgers/cheeseburgers, corn on the cob, sliced ham and cheeses, and a bunch of homemade salads, fruits, and sweets people are bringing. There will only be about fifty some people, just relatives and the wedding party and their other half. They are having four bridesmaids and groomsmen. It is going to be sort of a big picnic and then a campfire in the evening. If I didn't have to buy all the bowls plastic silverware, plates, and charcoal and ice it would be somewhat cheaper.
If people want beer or booze, they can bring their own. We are going to have a few people jamming music, but no band. I could hook up the stereo I suppose and play some old records from the seventies. She didn't want a hall, she wanted to be married outside and have an outdoor reception.
Her wedding dress cost a hundred sixteen bucks, she wasn't worried about a real nice one, she is growing fast, she is seven months pregnant. She has a nice husband to be. His parents seem real nice too, they came over yesterday to discuss the reception. Oh, yeah, we are having a big pot of peach cobbler in the dutch oven in the fire pit and also strawberry shortcake with ice cream. My daughter, her mother, is making the wedding cake, it is going to be three tear, they have all sorts of cake making tools, they make a lot of cakes for people's parties. That will probably cost thirty bucks to make. My other daughter is going to be doing the pictures, she has lots of camera equipment, she has done weddings and parties for people before, she has some expensive camera equipment. She kind of wants bacon and eggs later that night made on the fire pit. We'll see I suppose.
Thought about having bbqed chicken breasts, we have a lot in the freezer. That would have been cheaper, we bought many packages of them at a 99 cents a pound. The hot dogs are about four bucks a pound and the burger cost us about six fifty a pound. Both are worth it, no skimping here.
Homemade potluck dishes are so much better than the ones you buy, everyone brings their best recipes.
It shouldn't be too bad. Been washing ceilings and walls in the kitchen and livingroom so I can paint.
